The Sharon at SouthPark Secures $166.4 Million for Life Plan Expansion
Ziegler closed approximately $166.4 million in bond financing for The Presbyterian Home at Charlotte, which operates The Sharon at SouthPark. The nonprofit CCRC currently has 247 independent living residences, 38 assisted living units, and 96 skilled nursing beds on 28.1 acres. The financing will fund expansion, a portion of interest during construction, a debt-service reserve, and issuance costs.
Plans call for 64 new independent living apartments with under-building parking, ground-floor mixed-use space, and a 52,000-square-foot Center for Vibrant Living. Planned amenities include a pool, fitness equipment, workout studios, walking tracks, and golf simulators. The trade article describes the financing and project but does not report resident fee changes, occupancy impacts, or a completion date. What questions should residents ask before a major expansion—about debt, construction disruption, costs, and future services?
