Steps we went through to finally get our dog park. Start with your municipal guidelines to see if one is possible.
Poll residents to assess the level of desire or resistance. There was significant not-in-my-back-yard horrifying, mostly from non-dog owners. Get funding and they are more costly than meets the eye.
We finally found a small grassy area close to buildings and parking lots which was also away from residences. Now we have a small, adequate dog park with easy and close access and parking for most residents.
As a side issues, we are in the process of adding electric vehicle charging stations with solar powered features near the dog park.
